This mood board is extra special to me because it’s for our soon to arrive baby girl! I am way late and only have about 6 weeks until our due date but luckily I have a plan and to- do list to tackle.
It’s amazing how hard it is for me to make decisions for our own house, especially while pregnant! I just want all the things and think all the sweet baby stuff is to. die. for. Luckily, I’ve had some pretty amazing friends/fellow creatives share some of their talents with me and they have been the best jumping off points.
Nursery Inspiration for our baby girl’s Floral and Sweet room
This fabric by Virginia Kraft Textiles is by far one of my most favorite fabrics of all time. Which is saying a lot considering I am a fabric nerd as evidenced by my home decor fabric board on pinterest. I can’t wait to see it as a slipcover on the nursery chair!
With these two pieces as the focal points, and using crib bedding we already have I’m hoping to achieve a sweet and floral serene nursery. Last go around, in Claire’s nursery, we did bright and bold so this time I wanted to go the complete opposite direction, and on a budget because let’s be honest we still have 2 bathrooms to remodel.
We’re going to attempt a DIY acrylic frame for the gorgeous art print of Central Park.(using Jana Bek’s tutorial) which includes hardware from Highland Hardware. Blush buffalo check fabric is being made into roman shades right now, and that stunning block textile fabric will hopefully be our new slipcover for our chair. I’m hoping to paint the crib a few shades darker than the walls in the room which are painted comfort gray. My sweet Mama framed a vintage linen pink dress for us and a super special quilt made from Claire’s great grandmother’s baby dresses.
The hubby is currently painting my old childhood mid century modern dresser white which we plan to use as a changing table. My favorite part of the dresser is the shape and the grasscloth detail on the drawers. He also built book ledges for some of our favorites that we like to display, like Flora and the Flamingo and I had a Favorite Dress. Layered rugs and a few brass touches with the mirror and bow hooks that will be hung on the back of the door will complete the look.
