Hi! I’m Emily, I’m so glad you’re here! “Dear Owen” started soon before we had our first baby, Owen, as a way to document my pregnancy and his life. It soon grew into a way to connect with others in the same season of life. During late night feedings I visited many blogs and soon connected with a wonderful group of Mama’s I adored. It grew into a creative outlet for me that was much needed during those early years of motherhood. I am beyond grateful for the friendships that I have made through this space.
After designing Owen’s nursery I found a great passion in creating children’s spaces. Owen’s nursery was featured on many blogs and websites that I adored. I was honored that others saw my passion for designing and that I could help encourage and help other Moms in the process of designing their special nursery.
My love for designing children’s’ rooms continued to grow as I designed another nursery for our daughter, Claire, and Dear Owen and Co. was born. My sweet Momma joined me and we launched our first shop where we designed and sold Nursery Sets.
I love fabric and mixing patterns. Texture and accessories. Creating a special room for both Mom and baby. Designing makes me happy.
I have a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, and enjoy working with children but after having our daughter I became a Stay at Home Mom. I am currently a SAHM and love blogging and creating. Coffee + wine, praise music and friends keep me sane. My husband and I love to travel and were lucky enough to do quite a bit before having our little ones.
I spend my days chasing kids, being a referee and doing my best to have a Grace filled home. I love Jesus, entertaining and party planning, decorating, and teaching my kids. God has blessed us abundantly and I am so grateful!
We recently moved from our 1930’s historic home in Houston back home to Oklahoma where both my husband and I’s families live. We absolutely loved our time in Houston and will always cherish those memories, but we are grateful to be home with family and raising our kids where we grew up. My husband and I both love remodeling and design, we remodeled much of our home in Houston and are now tackling our current Oak Springs Remodel. We have big plans for this little 1960’s Ranch, but most importantly we want to cherish our time together here, slowly updating as time and budget allows.
I love creating Nursery Room mood boards for inspiration and spend way to much time sourcing products and fabric to put together the “perfect” room.
I created the Design Board Library as a place to house all the inspiration compiled of fun designs and ideas from me and contributors, hoping for it to be a helpful resource for Moms. You can see all the designs below. (and if you’d like to contribute a mood board feel free to email me!
I’d love for you to stick around or always feel free to email me I love to hear from others. That’s the best part of blogging! Take Care!
